Since being on a gluten free diet, I have struggled to find decent products online. There are a few stores I go back to but I get tired of the selection and am always on the hunt for something new. Recently, I was browsing Twitter and came across ‘Honest Eats‘. I was intrigued. They are an online store which specialise in free from products. Not just gluten free but many different allergens. I was overwhelmed at the vast array of products in a good way!
The site is clean and easy to navigate. You can filter out by gluten, dairy, soya, sesame, GMO, crustacean, lupin, wheat, lactose, nut, sulphite, fish, mustard, egg, peanut, yeast, sugar, celery, mollusc and palm oil. You can also browse products which are rich in fibre, low fat, vegetarian, organic, vegan, NGCI and have no added sugar. I have never come across a website which allows you to sort through products in such a fantastic way. You can also select multiple filters which makes it super easy to find suitable items to suit your dietary needs. Always check the ingredients of products, though.
When I placed my first order, I nearly went mad and bought the whole selection of goodies on offer but I managed to restrain myself! I called before placing an order to check something and the customer service was excellent. Really friendly, understanding and helpful service. I decided to order a selection of biscuits, pasta, cooking ingredients and snacks:
Farabella Brick – Chocolate Covered Biscuit 23g – £0.78
Lovemore Shortbread Fingers 125g – £0.96
Lovemore Jammy Wheels 115g – £1.62
Lovemore O’Chocos 125g – £1.78
Altri Cereali Quinoa Biscuits with Cocoa Cream 30g – £2.82
Rice & Rice Rice Hearts – Rice Biscuits Cocoa Filled (6×33.3) £3.00
Rice & Rice Rice Cake Cocoa (4x45g) 45g – £3.71
Rice & Rice Whole Rice Chifferi Pasta 250g – £2.14
Farabella Gnocchi 250g – £1.59
Ibsa Bierzo Crema de Calabaza – Pumpkin Soup 530g – £2.24
Ibsa Bierzo Pimientos Asados – Roasted Peppers 220g – £2.63
Supermex Cheese Tortilla Chips 180g – £1.12
Rice & Rice Rice Cuisine 200ml – £0.87
I was really impressed with the prices of these items. All reasonable and the biscuits were cheaper here than where I usually get them from. I was excited to try the Italian products too. Delivery is free on UK orders over £25. You will need to pay £3.50 if you are placing an order with frozen items. There are some pretty amazing foods up for grabs in the freezer section: Ice cream, sausage rolls, pasties, ravioli and profiteroles, to name a few.
I got my order at a discount as I signed up to receive the updates for the launch of the website earlier this year. You can get 10% off with code HE10. I highly recommend checking Honest Eats out, whatever your intolerances. It is brilliant.
It’s a relief to find soomnee who can explain things so well
